is there anyway to change youre name? idek if i entered one lmao i was confused when it first booted up

Love the idea, the visuals, execution - just everything. Great addition to a desktop, especially when running multiple monitors. Some settings like custom colors would be pretty cool tho.

Was Just wondering how this program works, is it server based or Actual radio frequencies?

(+4)

its built around google sheets (not joking)

(+1)

Frankly, wow,  impressive

(+2)

Love this app, would really recommend, it's all the good of social media distilled.

I was wondering if there is there anyway to make the blob smaller on the screen? takes up quite alot of space on my 4k laptop display.

(+2)

there is no way to do that yet

very cool!!!

(+1)

My biggest struggle is that the area of the bubble is much larger than the bubble itself. This is problem because the bubble blocks my clicks when they are well outside of the where it displays. In the image, the bubble blocks clicking in that entire area.

weird, its only supposed to block clicks in the square bounding box, will look into it at some point

Thank you :) I'm running Windows 10, if that helps.

(1 edit) (+1)

If you grab ShareX and point it at Radio Bubble, it'll show the box is almost twice the size of the circle... So, yeah, it's blocking clicks in its bounding box, but its bounding box is too large.

(+8)

I am going to set up a dedicated display device to run this in my room

(+1)

Broken

Got rickrolled :(

Unfortunately, it causes all sorts of graphical bugs on other apps in MacOS 10.14 (Mojave).

I haven't tested it too much, but browsers and electron apps appear to be affected far more easily.

Here's the log:

Suggestions:

  • The ability to resize the bubble
  • A (likely hidden) option/config setting to load the app in a regular window without transparency if the issue above can't be fixed easily.
(+1)

hey, thanks for the report. I only tested it out on macOS 12 and it worked fine there. I dont think we will be able to get to this soon but I agree with you that idealy we should allow you to launch it without transparency as a way of working around this.

(+2)

hey, how do i change my name? i messed it up. thanks on advance!

(+2)

Delete your save data. It should be in the standard Godot saves folder, if ve remember correctly.

Nice idea Plus it looks cool

(1 edit) (+2)

I just want to change the station name. I screwed up the title and have no motivation to use it since I can't erase my data :(

same

(+1)

Hi again! My other request is to minimize the task to the tray.

(+2)

I really like this but dragging the window around is really janky and difficult on my setup.

It would be really cool if the animation acted as a music visualizer since I usually have music playing in the background and it fits the theme.

Just purchased this, and I think it's awesome. I agree with killhour here that a music visualizer would be a cool option feature.

(+1)

hmmm, that’s a very cool idea but i’m not sure how to make that work. will look into something like that in the near future

I did something similar in Unity using CSCore.  Here's a video (warning for flashing lights):

Not sure how easy that is to adapt to Godot, but I'm happy to offer any advice or help I can.
(+1)

i just installed it and it looks amazing, i LOVE this concept but i must be missing something... i don't see where i could write my message :/

do i have to wait 24h to write my first message or something?

you should be able to send a message after booting up and setting your name for the first time. then, every new day, you should be able to do that again.

it's cool! but van you make a way to make it smaller.

(+3)

Honestly just sending and receiving positive vibes in this is so cool. I hope the playerbase keeps up! I love just seeing what everyone has to say!

I know updates are unlikely but the one thing I would suggest is a character count so you know when you're nearing the limit!

(+1)

noted for the future!

(+3)

isore shared this: "even when im wasting time i feel like im doing it wrong."

Legitimately profound in this day and age.

(+2)

It would be really good if you put more than one message for day

(+3)

Really fun game. Unfortunately...

Oh come on he can't even spell "fuck" right at the end.

(+7)

entirely reasonable reaction to the current state of the world tbh

this is so stinkin cute thank you

(+2)

no ur stinkin cute

(+1)

It's cute as hell. I like it a lot

Help I cant send messages I think I broke something.

(+3)

note that you can only send messages once per day

(+2)

love this entire thing

(+3)

Love the messages i get from time to time. Some of them are shit i will admit but some help me get through the day but personally i love the people who've just gone fully into roleplaying the station of their choice even if the character limit is small

(+3)

Hey, sorry if you run into any crap. I try to go through the database every so often to clean out bad actors. But I agree, people that roleplay make my day :)

(+2)

Looks AMAZING and is a GUINUS IDEA I can watch it all day.

(3 edits) (+2)

I am loving this. It's just so nice to get these random messages from time to time. I've been keeping a list of which "stations" I've picked up so far (I've had one station twice in 3 days). I wish we could reach out to each other, even if just to be able to send an indication of "message received".

Radio Seeker signing off.

(+3)

I wish you could resize this but it sure does look purty

(+3)

I really love this idea! I have it open pretty much whenever I am working on a text or playing games that don't require too much focus. The community is just goofy and positive and it's wholesome reading messages like "Greatings from (xyz)! you matter, don't give up! also watermelon slaps lol" now and then.

(+2)

Aww its people like you that makes my days better so glad I found this!

(+3)

This program is awesome. Someone sent me the message of "Send Nudes". Now I can't live life without it!

(+6)

It's honestly wonderful to watch people be people. So many of the messages are just well-wishes, or someone saying something harmless they "shouldn't say" because they think it's funny, and they're both just... Wonderful. It's nice to watch people be people in this day and age, where social media so often shows us only the bad side of eachother.

(+2)

We're Snowbound. I forget our frequency.

(1 edit) (+2)

You are on frequency 86.7 MHz! Happy broadcasting!

(1 edit) (+2)

Oh, neat! Thank you!
I've been having a lot of fun watching messages come in, this is great.

(+1)

Still a little buggy on the Mac app, the 1.1 update didnt help fix the bottom clipping textbox when imputing, and still cant rename radios on it. I dont know if this is just a problem with me or the mac file in general. But still a pretty good little widget :>
Mid-Sentence Update: crashed after 5 minutes of using it haha.

Oh no! What version of macOS are you on? I'm on 12 and it works fine for me :/
We'll be doing an update soon-ish tho cleaning some thigns up so hopefully that cleans the thing up.

(+3)

the game is taking quite a lot of my screen space, i wish there is a resize feature. other than that, this is awesome!

(+1)

(+1)

Seems great so far! My only gripe is that I'd like a way to change your radio name, even with a limitation of doing so once per week.

(+2)

I wish I could rename the radio :/

(+1)

Same!

Really neat idea, i love having it sitting on my desktop and just randomly getting messages while i work.

A simple, cute idea

The only thing i would be wary of is it would be very easy for random people to start spamming all kinds of messed up shit and ruin the vibe, but i guess that's the risk of anything that lets strangers send messages.

(+5)

If you haven't already, you should check out Kind Words, a game cenetered on sending and receiving nice messages to strangers through the internet.  You get to do personalized requests if you have anything going on that you want some positivity on.  People can then reply specifically to that prompt.  You of course can also answer other people's requests, or not if you don't feel like it.  There's also the paper airplanes which are messages that you can send out completely randomly just to put a little light in a stranger's day.  You of course can also look at the random messages.

It has a surprisingly amazing community with really good moderation.  The art and music also create a great vibe.

Thanks for the recommendation, ill check it out

(+3)

very cute!
